One of the brilliant things about the virtual world of Second Life is that you can be whatever you want to be. Whether that be a roided out, psychopathic drug lord, a sci-fi-esque cyborg, a dog, I kid you not (mind the pun), or even yes, a child.

There really are no restrictions with Second Life and your imagination really is the limit! Of course, if you can be anything you want to be, then why would you choose to play as a child? Surely it would make sense to play as an adult to match the adult behind the screen? Well .... perhaps not.
There are a mirriad of different reasons why people might choose to play as a child in Second Life, and the image you see above of myself enjoying some sun, sea and sand on Miami's lucious, lovey beach is only one version and interpretation of a child avatar - I play as a ten-year-old boy named James, who being European, has decided to don a pair of speedos. There are, however, many different takes on how to play a child avi.
Inner Child
So why play as a child? One of the best reasons to play as a kid avi is to reconnect with your own real life inner child, who if you were anything like me has probably been sadly neglected and locked away for many years. Indeed, being an adult in the modern world can be very hectic and full of stresses and responsbilities, and because of that we can all too easily forget the fun things in life - the simple things in life.

Playing as a child can therefore be a fun way to escape, to unwind and let go of adult responsbilities and have some fun. Remember being a kid? What did you want to do? Did you want to play and have fun? What about going to work and paying bills? Nah ... that's boring grownup stuff, right? Did you like to jump on your bed? Did you like to get up to mischief, to blow bubbles in your milk, to be daft and goofy? Or how about an epic pillow fight? It really was alot of fun and there is lots of fun to be had playing as a child aviatar in Second Life.

Linden Dollars
Another, somewhat overlooked and often unconsidered reason to play as a child is finances - Second Life is a free experience - free that is until you want anything... and purchasing lindens can quickly put a dent in your wallet or bank account. As of today (31/12/2018) $1 will buy you L$251, and costs can quickly add up when you're consructing your perfect look.

Adult bodies and mesh heads are particularly expensive. A good body can set you back a good L$3,000 or L$4,000 Lindens depending on the creator and quality - or in real money, $12.00-$16.00. Similarly, a good Catwa or LAQ mesh head will cost you another cool L$5,010 Lindens, or a whopping total of L$10,000 Lindens or $40.00 US dollars just for a body and head, and that doesn't include vital necessities like hair, skins clothing or accessories which compared to their chld counterparts are relatively expensive.
Tweenster
In comparison, the Tweenster mesh body, availble from Meshmerized on marketplace and in store in world, costs a measly L$995 compared to the much more expensive adult bodies which cost 5 times that. The Tweenster body therefore offers excellent value and is truly georgeous to look at. See the gallery below for fashion ideas and what to wear with your Tweenster body today!
